About Me

I first started working for Windows of Hope Counseling Center when they opened their Roseville office in April of 2008. In December of 2008, I happily moved back to my homeland in Sonoma County to be near my family while offerring affordable counseling to the community under Windows of Hope. My emphasis and experience is in both couples counseling and individual counseling with adults and teens. These are some of the areas in which I have counseled clients: Pre-marital counseling; acculturation issues; relationship problems (communication issues; rigid conflict patterns; verbal/emotional/physical abuse; affairs); family of origin issues and/or previous relationship issues affecting current relationships; step-parenting /blended family issues; co-parenting; parenting teenagers; depression and depression fallout; trauma recovery; PTSD; domestic violence; self-esteem issues; substance abuse; anxiety.
            I am a
Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (#61172) working for Windows of Hope under the supervision of Gary Henderson, MFT, License #7053. I am a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. I have a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Chapman University College in Roseville, California. For my undergrad, I have a BS in Sociology and a minor in psychology from Black Hills State University in Rapid City, South Dakota. I am also a pre-licensed member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
My style of counseling is based in both Humanistic and Psychodynamic theory, with emphasis in mindfulness, depth therapy, and emotionally focused practices.

I use a form of depth therapy that not only allows my clients to work through stuck emotions, but empowers them to take many of these tools home in order to practice continuous self growth and healing. Many of my techniques with adults and adolescents are inspired by humanistic, emotionally focused, and experiential methods I have learned from graduate training and from workshops with Earnest Rossi, Susan Johnson, James Finley, Jean Houston, and James Hillman. The emphasis is in moving beyond the patterns of being stuck in or triggered by past emotional wounds and learning valuable emotional and relational skills. I also use techniques inspired by Harville Hendrix, author of "Getting the Love You Want" and David Richo, author of "How to be an Adult in Relationships" when working with couples. I find that it often helps to have a guidebook with tangible affirmations and exercises to reflect on and practice that can help us shift into deeper reflection and engage more readily in the process of transformation that is at the heart of our emotional and spiritual healing and growth.

My focus as a counselor is to help you: identify goals; heal/resolve/accept past wounds; align with your own innate strengths and abilities; and acquire new insights and skills to take home with you. It is my deeply felt honor to help guide you on your journey of healing and growth.

Namaste.
